CGs near Cape Canaveral (Kennedy) FL??
Looking for CG suggestions in the Titusville / Cocoa Beach etc areas within one hour of the Cape for the next Shuttle launch. Planning on about a month (May). Any suggestions appreciated. Big rig site is best.
Thanks,

Okay here you go:
Jetty Park (best spot for viewing however fills up quick)
Manatee Hammock (another good place to view from)
Moss Park (in Orlando about 43 miles from the cape)
Tingly's Campground (really run down only recommended in pinch for a night)
Sabastian State Park ( about an hour 15 to cape)
Great Outdoors (Titusville - not sure of all the accomidations)
Tomoka River State Park (Ormand Beach 76 miles)
KOA New Symarna Beach (50 miles)
There are also several Wal Marts. THe one in Merritt Island does not allow overnight parking.
If you need more or want more information let me know. Whatever you decide make reservations (where allowed) as early as possible. They fill up fast prior to a launch.

Hi PJ and Nancy,
Hope you're not getting too wet! Seems as if we simply followed the rain from location to location. But we still had a great time. Currently we're at our daughter's place over in Ventura. We're at a little park in Santa Paula. We'll be going home in a couple of days.
I thought you were flying to Flordia.... guess you changed your mind.... of course I may have misunderstood also. Whatever you do have a great time. We'll see you folks on down the road.

My parents own a site in The Great Outdoors. I would rent it to You but they will be on it till sometime in May. I will contact them and find out exactly when they plan to leave.
The park is very nice and towards the end of May it is quiet. There are a couple of pools and a golf course. Our site is about 150' from the pool on a dead end road so there isn't much traffic.

Also just a short ride down I-195 in Rockledge is Space Coast RV Park on Barnes Blvd and I-95 (321-636-2873)
Nice park with pull through's for big rigs and short stays.
Easy ride to the cape using I-95 to 528 to 3 North.

Thanks to all. We've made a res at Great Outdoors...got a "10" all around from TL. We are being good to ourselves so far this year re RV parks. Just finished a week at The Voyager in Tucson. Nice place! Hope Great Outdoors can match it! It will be a long an inbteresting from here to there!
Best regards, and thanks again for the ideas.
