That Mega Cab is to us the sweetest cab in the industry but unfortunately it comes with the shortest truck bed. After 4 years of using an auto sliding (extremely heavy) hitch we opted out for our current long box chevy. Now with a regular hitch and the longer box we find this set up works best for us at this point.
Enjoy those grand babies and that Mega Cab.

Since we full time our cats use the Mega Cab area for their traveling play pen. We have a Reese Slider and I oil it occasionally to try and keep it from freezing up, but I've never had to use the slider to maneuver and I've gone as far as to back in a U around a mobile home on uneven ground. Doesn't mean I won't need it someday, but haven't needed it yet in four years of full timing.

I have heard that there are some custom builders that fab up a Mega Cab with an 8' bed. Probably costs a load of money I would imagine, but then you could have a long, long truck to go with the long, long trailer.
Desi and Lucy would be really jealous!

My Ford has a very nice crew cab with plenty of room and an eight foot bed. It's not that much longer than the truck you are looking at but the extra bed room is worth it.

Wouldn't think I'd like that. We're 57' long now from front of the truck to end of bike racks. That's plenty of length for me.

We have a Chevy with a short box with a B&W Companion slider hitch, been using it for 2 yrs now, had a Curt slider before that. I'm here to tell you, ya it can be a pain in the rear to be jumping in & out of the truck, but I've got a good spotter & I find that it get's me a little more exercise than with out it. You just have to retrain your self to get out and look before you act. After awhile it will become second nature. Enjoy!!

I can put all 3 grandkids in their car seats in the back of my extended cab, no complaints.

I have the mega cab for almost four years. Have not needed my slide.
Other comments about the crew cabs and the extended, i will tell you the differences between the manufacturers cabs and rear seats. I looked at them all. The mega is big enough for an adult to sleep back there. But primary choice was fold flat seats that folded to the floor, not to the back of the cab. That puts our golden at just the right level.

That's our big thing also. When the cats aren't using all that flat space we fold their pen up and have almost a fully enclosed second pickup bed.

I am not starting something, or even wanting arguments. But here comes the but, But if you see all specs on Ford Crew Cab and Mega Cab they are essentially the same. Ford has more hip and shoulder room. Look at these comparisons. http://www.autobytel.com/trucks/car-...r-2015-125304/

Really appreciate my Pull-Rite Super Slide. Slides automatically,no jumping out to check. I'm not perfect, yet, like some who claim they will never need a slider. I'll take all the help I can get. Just yesterday I saw a truck with dents on both sides from trailer contact.

The slider is there when needed. Just like having a spare tire, and tools.
