7.3Ford said the key to the real difference. Both methods will work fine but figure 2 will provide the more even battery life. In figure one, one battery will end it's life much sooner than the other. In figure 2 both batteries will reach the end of life closer to the same time and there fore longer.

The poor guy or gal that spent thousands of dollars on batteries and canít figure why they are out of balance, have lost capacity or damaged can always come back to this thread for solace.
