We bought our Montana in the US and at the time the Canadian dollar was worth more than the American, so when we insured our trailer in Canada, as you say it was by length and not value, and at the time they asked me what the declared value of the trailer was including taxes, which was about 60 thousand, this year before I renewed the insurance, which by the way is total replacement cost insurance, i told the agent things had changed with the dollar and the 2009 price would be substatially different, she phoned the underwritng company and she was advised that we get the 2009 price in Canadian dollars. We did and that MSRP figure was 90 thousand. We now have the declared value of 90 thousand and it didnt change our premium. Go figure, strange as it may seem there you have it.
