Prayers for Paul

I didn't know exactly where to update this post so here it goes.
I just got back from the Vets Home after a very long day. Tomorrow I am taking Paul to North Valley Hospital. He is going in to be transfused with 3 units of blood. While I was sitting with him today I could tell his blood count was very low. I asked the Dr. to run a count on him. It came back extremely low so she ordered the transfusion. I took him to the hospital today to be typed and cross matched. He did quite well. When I brought him back they had a bowl of ice cream waiting for him. He can't swallow anything solid so they thought if it melted he could get it down. Also next Wed. he goes back to the Oncologist for the results of his PET Scan. And then on Thurs. he goes to a Pulmanologist to make sure he can go under anesthetic for the surgery. He has become so frail that I am worried he won't be able to take the surgery. Paul Jr. is afraid (as am I) that might kill him before anything else does. We just pray. One day at a time. I just go from room to room not knowing what else to do. I made him a very warm quilt because he is always freezing. He has it with him all the time. He said it is the warmest thing he has. They don't allow electric blankets there otherwise I would have one of those there for him. He is in a wheelchair all the time now so the blanket is a great help to him. They keep his room at 85 degrees so when I go there, I dress for the snow and then I take practically everything off once I am in his room and he is still freezing. He did gain 2 lbs from the feeding tube but that isn't enough to really help. He weighs less then 100 lbs. That is about all I have to report at this time. I will let you know more as I find out more. Thanks Kathi
