Fall Trip

In conjunction with plans to attend the fall rally in Elkhart, we are in the planning stage of making a loop up through Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin into Upper Peninsula and then back down through Michigan to Elkhart. Will leave sometime early August. so will have about 6 weeks to get to Elkhart. Will be making stops in Land be Between the Lakes, St Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee and then through upper peninsula to Sault Saint Marie. Then back down to Detroit, Elkhart, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and eventually back to Chattanooga. Hope to make it to as many baseball parks as I can. Any recommendations as to other places to stop for a few days, things to see, places to camp (especially places to camp) and places to eat, would be GREATLY APPRCIATED. We would like to stay at campgrounds with electric (prefer 50A) and water, but will probably have to flexible with that.

Thanks in advance

Check out Wisconsin Dells and Door County Wisconsin. In Michigan check out the Ship Wreck Museum, Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel and come down the West Side of Michigan along Lake Michigan visit the sand dunes. The whole Lake Michigan shore drive is really nice with lots of interesting towns.

There is a ball field in Jackson right off of I40. It's the Jackson Generals affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. If you want to see that place I can think of two places to stay a night or two. First is Beach Bend Park off of 100 in Perryville just south of I40. The other is just north of 40, Birdsong. Wife and I like the quaintness of Beach Bend. For Birdsong you may want to see about reservations for they fill up during the summer. I believe both places have a website. From either one it's a straight shot up 641 to Paris and then 79 to Paris Landing and the LBL's.

Thanks, several of these are already on my list, I'll check out the others.

So then you are somewhat familiar with the area. I will be heading up to the rally the Monday prior, so if you need something while going by give a shout and I'll see what I can do.

Mackinaw Island was interesting. For me the Dells never did much. Just seemed like a flat area near the water. I plan on seeing the locks in Duluth on the way to the Rally. If you like football, you can see the Packers museum, etc in Green Bay.

We did this from mid Missouri last year. Here were some CG we liked.
Starting in The Dells, Stand Rock CG
Door County WI Baileys Harbor BeanTown CG ( tight spaces )
Escanaba MI Pioneer Park (loved this place )
Sault St Marie MI Bay Mills Casino
Manistee MI Little River Casino ( super nice CG try to hit Friday night seafood buffet best ever)

In mid August you’ll hit the cherry festivals in Wisconsin awesome!
Door County Lighthouse tour is great.
UP we did not stay long enough! If we weren’t headed to Alaska this year we would go back.

I have our Montana scheduled for IS /disc brakes on Monday before the MOC in Goshen, it will be our first rally see ya there!
