Washing Question

Has anyone used Clorox House and Siding spray to wash their 5'er?



Do you see any reason why I should not use this product?

I would think it would remove any wax you have on it. Make sure it is safe for fiberglass surface.

I used a similar product to clean my house siding. Just sprayed it on and hosed it off. Amazing results. However, as mentioned it WILL remove any wax that is on it. I ruined a new flannel coat doing it. Bleached to death.

I would wash your unit with normal car wash and wax with your choice of wax. A cleaner wax and buffer will make it look brand new.

I have found that on the really nasty areas that regular car wash detergent just can't seem to work on, some of LA's Totally Awesome cleaner diluted either by itself or mixed in with the car wash detergent works well to clean those areas. I use a Meguire's wash and wax for the occasional clean up and add a bit of sparkle. If I want to completely strip and rewax, Meguiar's G25024 Car Wash Plus. This is also used on our vehicles as well then a good polish and waxing, again with a Meguire's product - something like their NXT


I don't use a harsh home siding cleaner, especially since the decals are not the best in quality

I guess it boils down to how clean you really want it to be. If you want it super clean you will need to use a stronger cleaner. Simple green is one example along with a host of others. If you are going to rewax it anyway, use something stronger. As mentioned, the house cleaner I used worked great. Would I use it on the camper ? Probably not, simply because I would be afraid of what It would do to things like the decals/seals etc.
