We need a bit more info...model, age, age of battery, is power getting to the battery, etc.

This post should probably be moved up to "Montana Problems....."

12.6 v is normal voltage for a 12 v battery. It should read 13.7 v or higher when being charged. Not clear what the problem is. Is the voltage dropping lower than 12.6 after some period of time?

The normal voltage when the converter is running normally is 13.2vdc. 12.6 or 12.7vdc would be normal if disconnected from the converter. This assumes the op has a montana that has the progressive dynamics converter and not some other brand, of which I have no knowledge.

Hi Working on the 4 th Interstate battery in our 2016 Montana 3790RD Legacy
after18 months of having the unit. Last time out with refrigerator on propane and using a bit of battery for it and the furnace on, the battery died after about 6 hours.
It s a Progressive Dynamics Converter Any have similar problem and hopefully the solution?

Thanks

How many and what size battery(ies) in your rig? If you only have one battery and maybe a group 24, and running the furnace, that might be all you will get from the battery if not plugged in or running a generator.

Hi Its just the crappy Interstate probably a series 24
When I leave the unit unplugged for a few days the battery is always dead.
The service manager just keeps replacing the battery ( probably with another used one). There must be a battery drain somewhere . Unfortunately the dealers just hope we get frustrated and go away. The Air Conditioning system is terrible and have gotten lots of useful information from the Montana owners website. And the Nor cold refrigerator also is totally useless. Temperatures range from 31F to 46F Milk sours after a few days and lettuce freezes. Am told this is to be expected... but from a $75,000 RV Really??

Thanks Ken

If you are going to leave your trailer sitting unplugged for a few days you need to disconnect the battery, and I am not talking about the battery disconnect in the convenience center. that only disconnects most things. There is always a parasitic drain on the battery from things like the propane alarm and such that will kill your battery in a couple of days. Batteries only have so many cycles in them and should not be discharged more then 50%. by leaving your battery connected and trailer unplugged you are essentially destroying all those new batteries. I am surprised your dealer would keep giving you new batteries.
