window in door replaced

Just installed new window in door today. Yeah! Had to use old interior frame as new one supplied with new window was for thicker door than what is on our unit. What was really different is that vendor used 1/8 inch close cell foam gasket when door was made, so yours is probaby the same. The window almost fell out when the inner frame was unscrewed. I expected to find black butyl like keystone used on the windows they installed. Anyway, gasket was thin from compression, top corner on one side folded over so it wasn't sealing out moisture. I elected to use black butyl since I had a roll handy and now all is better. John

If you get to the Rally you'll see a lot of stained glass in those door windows.

There was a large state highway truck with a very large metal sign attached to the side of it...parked over the crest of a hill out of sight with the sign partially in the lane. Picture loads of cars and semis in the left lane, popping over the hill to find you were about to take that sign down the side of your monte...if you could squeeze left enough in the lane. I said some words, then the sign ripped the front awning hardware from its resting place...down side punching and scraping all theway. So I replaced adjustable pitch arm on awning, door window, dining room window, living room window. Have bent door hinge, dented door frame, and scrape down whole side. Am using products to reduce scratch down side. Have applied touchup paint to awning hardware and door frame. Mostly back to normal. I would advise folks to apply clear silicone chalk to door window frame to make sure it stays sealed to the door. John

I have been wondering if it is possible to replace the 'privacy' glass in the front door window with a tinted glass like the rest of the windows. I would like to be able to see out, but have the tint provide some privacy during the day. I can add a fabric shade for privacy at night.
