Drawer under refer
Pat thought the space under the refer would be great for fry pans and cookie sheets. Has anyone opened that area? If you have, could the area be made usable, no electrical or fridge drains etc.? The answer only involves my removing 4 screws but the rig is all closed up and we are having rains of biblical proportions right now.

The 2010 doesn't have a drawer under the fridge? If so are you trying to make it bigger? Our 2013 3400RL has a drawer under there that we use for cookie sheets and frying pans.

No the 2010 does not have a drawer there. There is a piece of 3/4 stock same profile as a drawer front that is surface mounted to the face frame. I thought I might remove this, add blocking to receive drawer slides and make a drawer to fit. If I am able to do this I would need to find a drawer pull to match.

I'd go for it that's a good amount of space. Hopefully they didn't change a whole lot between our model years. I miss some of the little storage holes that my SOB had. That manufacturer found and used every possible place to stick a drawer, cupboard or shelf.

On my 2009, I put spring hinges on the bottom of the panel. They hold the panel up just fine when it's closed. I did have to move the outlet back a bit and I put a board in front of it so stuff won't hit the outlet. You will be surprised in the amount of stuff you will be able to store in there.

There is plenty of room to put a drawer there. I put one there on my 2011 3400RL. Make a box with drawer guides that fits there, then screw the cover panel you took off the opening on the front of the box. The question was, what to do about the screw holes on the front of the panel. Before I screwed the panel onto the box, I cut plugs from the back of the panel that I pluged the holes with. I think I also had to route a similar profile on the edge of the panel as the other drawers have. Then I sanded the face of the front down, stained and finished it. We store flat kitchen items there.

We have the 2010 3400RL. We put a piano hinge, 2 latches, and a handle. It works great for cookie sheets, cake pans, lids, etc.

We opened ours up also. Ordered a handle from RV dealer to match our handles on the cabinets looks like it came that way. We store all our flat baking pans in it. Perfect place.

Our 2013 came equipped with a drawer. We use it for numerous rather flat cooking items.

A drawer here on our 2015 and we have made a wine rack in it, holds six bottles I believe.

While not a 3400, our 2012 3700 didn't originally come with a drawer under the fridge. Models built two weeks later did. So we built a box, added glides, and screwed the false front on. We ordered a replacement handle from the dealer and put wood buttons stained to match in the old corner screw holes.

Nothing like having a mature MONTY! Our 2007 came with the drawer under the refer. It is great and we would not consider another rig without it.

We did the same on our '06 3650RK. Put two hinges on it with a handle. We store lids to pots and pans there.

I put a drawer with slides in mine also. Plugged the holes in the front, bought a handle from the dealer and attached the front to the drawer.
