Shattered Fireplace Glass
One of the GREAT things about attending a rally is the wealth of knowledge you gain by talking to other Montana owners.
When we arrived home with our new 2013 Montana on May 28th, we discovered that the fireplace glass had shattered. We attributed that to not knowing where the island was supposed to ride. We were told "between the slides with the wheels locked". Found out later it was supposed to ride between the recliners. Anyway, the dealer is replacing the glass. Judy had her doubts as to whether the island was actually the culprit.
Now, at the Mid-Atlantic Rally, we discovered that 2 other 2013 Montanas, not the same floor plan as ours, also had shattered fireplace glass.
Have any other 2013 Montana owners had the same misfortune?

Have someone drive your TV and fiver for a short distance while you ride inside especially towards the rear ... you'll find out why anything that can move needs to be lashed down. I'd find somehow to secure the island other than simply placing it between the recliners ... it will find its way out!

Our island never has moved and it rides between the recliners and believe me we have hit some nasty chuck holes, with the slides in the two slide floor pieces help keep it in place

OK John-- We don't have your model but we have used 2 of the 6' bungie cords that we bought at Shipshawana Flea Market and hooked them together with the lamp table between them. We used a hand towel over the metal hooks and a regular bath towel over the edges of the table and between the rockers to make sure they did not rub on the chairs or the table. Worked well for us! Don't see why it wouldn't work for you and the rolling counter!

We have had the fireplaces in all three of our montanas without any problems. On our 3650RK, we picked up some barstools which had to be removed before closing the slides, and of course we forgot, and the kitchen island was ripped out of the floor when the slides closed.

Ok, that's the worst slide closing mistake I've heard of yet.

We found the island was held in place only with a few wood screws, so it was not damaged, and I was able to resecure on the floor, with stronger hardware.
