kitchen faucet - need a little advice

Steve, there is another restrictor on the opposite end of the metal hose. It is a pain in the but to remove if you have fat hands but is not impossible..

Dave, thanks. I will go after that restrictor. My hands are a little chubby but we'll get it out of there. If there is crud in the line causing a blockage it could well be at that restrictor.

Jim, I'm not sure I have an air chuck that stays attached to the valve stem. If not, then I'll have to hold the chuck on the stem. Vicki wants me to go shopping with her this morning so my plans are changing. She'll be here when I start working on the faucet so I could get her to hold the chuck on the stem while I go inside. I think first I'll check that restrictor Dave mentioned and then do the air thing.

OK, to sum lack of progress prior to today, I had removed the restrictor in the base of the faucet handle and also the one behind the screen of the aerator. No improvement in flow.

Today I removed the other restrictor, the one Dave (exnavydiver) mentioned, the one in the far end of the metal hose. It was a simple task to disconnect that hose. Needle nose pliers removed the restrictor. It has an o-ring that causes a nice snug fit in the line so just pull it straight out.

Before doing this I timed the filling of a small water glass, to a decorative line on the glass. Six seconds. After removing this final restrictor, just over 3 seconds. Same as at the bathroom faucet. So, I consider the primary goal to be achieved. Thanks to all for their help.

I did not find any unintended restriction when I removed the restrictor, other than a few loose calcium deposits. Nothing significant. I removed those.

We still have a mis-functioning check valve at the water inlet in the water connection center and that may be further restricting the flow somewhat. However, the flow is currently acceptable and it is 96 degrees with a high humidity percentage out there and I'm not going to attempt to remove that valve today. Someday there will be a cooler day and then it will get done.
