Landing Gear Stalls

I have a 2008 Montana 3075. Of late, sometimes my landing gear will not operate when I push the ret/ext switch. I have discovered when that happens, if engage the manual crank for a couple of turns the switch will work as normal. Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it ?
Thanks, Roger-xgboy

When it quits working does the motor sound like it is binding up or it does it go completely dead? If binding you may have a bent landing gear or it could be dry. Have you lubricated the landing gears? Jim

I would start with lubing the landing gears and see if that solves the problem.

Ours has done that for years and have to replace the fuse.....no one can figure out why it does it. Very frustrating!

My first thought is lubrication and then a binding from a bent let. I have replaced the fuse with a metal cased resettable fuse. Not the same as photo but close. I found the fuse rating was 30 amps yet the switch on the wall was only rated at 20 amps. That switch is a weak link because that switch gets hot and can cause the fuse to blow.

So if you have not lube your legs pop the cap off each and put a couple table spoons of 90 weight gear oil in the center to mainly lubricate the worm gear and shaft. Next take some axle grease and just pack the top with the grease. I use a putty knife. That should take care of the lubrication issue.
Note: there is a zert fitting on some of the legs. I was told by Ventura that it was not their design and it would not lubricate everything. Since it is below the top gears we know they will not get grease and since it is on the side of the leg I am not sure how it can lubricate the worm drive. So as I said I pack the top then let the heat work the grease down the legs side and most important the screw shaft.

I hope this helps.
