Everyone on the East Coast, get ready. This storm is a bitch. Lost most of our beautiful oak in the back yard and lost some roof shingles so far. We have a couple of hours to go yet.

Jim, I guess that chainsaw will be a whirrin' today at your place.

Not to be a wiseguy, but our weather over here near Asheville is great right now.

Be safe Jim and Vicki and also with your outside work as well.

We cleaned the gutters, got the Monty off the 6x6's on the right side due to broken leaf spring (job 50% done) so least its back on wheels next to stick house...now we wait.

Praying for all of our MOC friends on the East Coast. Hang in there Jim & Vickie. Judy and Dennis watch out for those Tornados that may come your way even though you might not have the rain & wind. We are currently in Milwaukee and not a cloud in the sky!

Hey HOOK,
How's your "cane" party doin? Seen any likes of Jim and Vickie? If you do, better throw them a Hook.
I feel bad for the shorter folks down there; last to know it's raining and the first to drown! Sorry, that was just too insensitive a comment, I know, but I think it's funny right there!

Good to hear from you guys, glad your OK. Truly was a little concerned for you but didn'twant to over react. We here have a couple of trees down and a few folks without power but mostly a good report.

That is too bad about that tree--it was a nice tree. If that and the shingles are all the damage that is good

"Be Prepared". Good advice. We are in Uxbridge, Ma. at the West Hill Dam. About 2pm we had an hour of downpour. 2 in of rain. Our Montana is in the park, "West Hill Park". Both are the same area, only different names. We packed the truck for three days, just in case, and bundled up the Montana like it was in storage. The Hurricane is to pass about 70 West of here tomorrow at 2pm (Center of Irene). Tonight we are camped out at the Office of The West Hill Park. We Have the other host here also, so it makes for cramped quarters. Good Lord willing and the creek does not get to high, all will be fine. Just hoping the Montana will be alright as it is parked in the woods at our sight. Hope you are all have a Good Day. More tomorrow

Well Jim, I hope you didn't get much damage. Looks like we will have to wait until daylight to see what happened up in the NE corner of the state, and the outer banks. Thank the Lord the old girl is gone. She surely took her time.

I just spoke with Jim & Vickie, they are ok. They are going out this morning and check on their other house and the trailer down on the river. Just assessing the area.
They can call out but calls in are not going through.

Update--- We just got power back a half hour ago. Very little water got into our river house but half of the foundation is gone. It can be fixed. Two outbuildings are off their foundations. We lost some shingles on our house and got water in the bedroom ceiling. I guess we'll be redoing the bedroom. Our oak tree lost half it's limbs. A lot of cleanup but otherwise we're fortunate.

Jim and Vickie-- We're glad it's over for you and that the problems you have had are not as bad as they could have been! Hopefully, all will turnout and you can get back into a regular routine again and get on with life! Hope everything goes well and you can still make it up to Goshen for the Fall Rally!

Jim, since you mentioned no damage to your unit, are we safe in assuming all is well with it??

Glad to hear the damage is, well, sorta, minimal.

Take care!

The Monty sits in my barn. The refer was running, the fresh water tank was full and if we needed it, we could take hot showers. It was our lifeboat that, thankfully, we didn't need to use.

We are in Lubec, Maine. Most of the it has passed to the west of us. We had some serious rain earlier, but now it's mostly some wind, probably 30 MPH with gusts. Hope everyone else on the coast are as fortunate as us.
