Reservoir /pump leak

Does anyone have information on hydraulic pump leaks? We're having a problem with our 2002 model. It seems we have a leak in the reservoir and pump unit. We have been told the extreme heat we had last summer might gave caused the hard plastic container to expand and will not seal properly now. How costly is this to replace?

We have a sporadic seep...which is less than a drip, which is less than a leak. I have tighened all fittings, seems to happen now only when the slide switch is held a bit too long when they are fully retracted or fully extended.

There's an O Ring between the reservoir and the pump itself. If the reservoir isn't cracked, I'd try replacing the O Ring. The easiest way (less messy) is remove the whole slide pump (labeling the hoses) and change it out on a bench. Disconnect the battery first!

Sorry for chiming in late, but I had a similar problem. Called Lippert and the standard fix if you are in warranty is to replace the pump/reservoir ( >$1,000). On mine, since I was not the original owner and thus had no warranty, Dale of Lippert suggested that I replace the gasket with one slightly larger in cross section diameter. Went to the local hardware store and they made a gasket from a spool of rubber with the larger diameter. I installed it and havn't had a leak on over two dozen slide cycles. I suggest you do the same.

Just got off the phone with Vance of Lippert. Explained that I had a very small leak of oil and asked if there was a way to fix. He said my new pump will be shipped tomorrow. A lot of good things are happening.
