Mod entertainment cabinet to exhaust heat

I've been having to keep my entertainment cabinet doors open because the smoked glass doors keep in the heat of the Blueray player and DirecTV receivers.

So I replaced the glass with a screen grid that was dark gray. The back and wall of the inside of the cabinet is the same light color as the coach walls, but since it's not lighted, it's mostly dark inside. So no loss of aesthetics.

Below is a photo but I used a flash and that really lights up the interior.

On mine, the equipment is in a lower cabinet, but my big pain was the couch in the slide blocked the opening of the doors enough to make it easy to do anything in there...hence my mod to center hinge the left door to the right and eliminate the left door hinges. Your mod certainly makes things better. Good job! John

Nice!
I suspect you gained the added benefit of better remote control signal reaching the Blueray player and DirecTV receiver.

I had already put in a set of 2x4s to raise the electronics above the frame of the door

How are you using the rest of the cabinet? I've been staring at all the space above the receiver and wondering how best to use the space.
