Camping World - Watch your prices

We learned today that there are many times that Camping World actually has three prices for what they sell. There is the member and non-member prices that are displayed in the stores and then there is the website price, which is usually cheaper than the in-store member price. When you check out of the store make the clerk check the website to see if the price is cheaper.

One of our purchases was a Sewer Solutions extension hose. It was $27 on the internet and $31 on the in-store member price. When we questioned the clerk, she responded that when a customer brings it to her attention she is required to search the website and honor the lowest price. She was not happy that she had to do all of that research. If the customer is not aware they pay the higher in store prices.

When we go to CW for a particular item, we look it up on their website before we go, do a screen shot with our phone, save the picture to our photos, and show it to the clerk when we check out and we always get the lesser price. This makes the check out process easier for us, the clerk, and the people in line behind us. Makes for happier campers.

Another little extra: Often times, we get an email from CW asking us to do a survey that is followed by a $10 coupon that we have used in conjunction with the internet price. We have used Amazon too.

I love the convenience of CW, but frankly the GoodSam price is still high. I shop on line and compare. Good example is their BBQ's. Amazon and other online and store fronts often beats CW prices. I feel sorry for the fella that just shows up and shops!

I've become less inclined to shop on-line in the past few years. That means going to CW and paying the higher price, typically. I've noticed when looking online at CW, they do have internet specials. I often wondered if they would match the price in-store. I like the idea of taking a photo of the webpage and presenting it at the counter.

X2. We use camping world only as a last resort. Tweety is great, price, service, shipping free.

CW has a captive market and therefore figures you will buy what ever they sell for whatever price they offer.....we use Amazon for most of our purchases and we have Amazon Prime so shipping is free.

Camping World is a great place to shop because of the variety of items in their website catalog. They are a poor place to buy because of their high prices. When we have the time, we learn what's available from CW then go on line to find the best price. When we need to have something absolutely positively right now, CW usually has it available. Needless to say, when we can avoid the high CW prices we do.

We as others use C.W as a guideline for prices. With the Discount they are at least 50% of the time or more competitive with others .Some other online sources may show a cheaper price but when shipping is added it may be the same or more than C.W. Like others if we need it right now we will use C.W.

It has got to be a significant difference in price to go elsewhere.

Just as a heads up, this also works well at Wally World. I sometimes get some of my RV supplies there and they will match their internet prices. I have done that a couple of times and the saving were significant. -Glenn

I bought two Dish VIP211Z recievers for $99.00 each from camping world when I purchased the Winegard satellite dish. I then talked to Dish direct and found that they sell them for $50.00 each. Took both back to CW and bought direct from dish. Half price for the same reciever. Use caution when purchasing from CW they are high on some prices. By the way $99.00 each was the member price.
