Installation of washer/dryer

Have a new 3625RE, would like to have washer installed. Curious about the dryer vent hook up. I see the sticker on the wall saying place vent here, does this mean they have to cut a hole on the interior wall and then the exterior fiberglass? Everything looks easy enough to do yourself except this portion. Any information would be great.

We have had two different Montana's and vented washers/dryers installed on both. That part always freaked me out so I just had the dealers install them. I am sure there are tons on here that have done their own, but for the difference in price I thought it was better to have an RV tech do the cutting.

We went with a washer dryer combo non vented works like a dream after you get used to it.

Yes, it does mean a hole straight thru the inner and outer walls. I also had an RV dealer install ours. But I know there are some on here who did it themselves.

We just had a combo unit installed in our 3582. I was like JandC in that I was afraid that I would hit a framing stud or worse wiring if I tried to cut the hole so I had camping world install it. They were running a special to install anything for $39 but be carefull. I assumed, shame on me, that it would be or the "unit" and what it required to operate. Nope that meant for the unit, the vent, and the overflow pan underneath.....$39 each. It was still better mentally for me.

Yep, good warning on the Camping World "install anything for $39.00". My buddy had been looking at the Travler Dish for his Direct RV needs and really liked ours. Once they announced that install special he jumped all over it. By the time they were done installing it they charged him around $300.00 for labor, explaining that he had 3 TV's with receivers....etc....etc....Too bad they don't explain all that up front.

If they explained that up front most people would go somewhere else. We had ours installed by the dealer that sold us the Monty and the unit and they didn't charge. which probably means I could have gotten a better deal on the Monty.

I Installed the vent in our 2002 3295RK about a month ago. I had no problem with location but used a metal finder for check wood boards in my shop. I checked the wall area between sides of the closet it was going in and found no studs between the walls. I measured up from the floor to the vent outlet and from one side of the unit. After transferring the measurements to the wall I did some figuring to locate the location on the out side of the trailer. I drilled a pilot hole thru the wall from the inside going real slow. I had to buy a 4" hole saw bit because I did not have one that large and went slow drilling from the outside. So I ended up having a straight shot out with the vent hose and a nice Crome vent to boot..

Had ours installed at CW. No way was I cutting a hole in the wall. I started with the non-vented combo and HATED it. Took forever to dry and made the bathroom feel like a sauna. (Plus, I thought the clothes smelled funny.) Changed to the vented combo and am happy.
