Best "tape" to use for LED install

Hello all. FedEx delivered my 16 foot LED light strip last evening. I plan on doing the install soon and I understand the adhesive that comes on the back of the LED strip is not sufficient to hold them to the side of the trailer under the awning. What is the best tape or other materiel to use to make sure they don't come off while traveling?

Thanks.

-Glenn

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
You can get it at an auto parts store.

Like Jim said ... Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly's, Autozone, Poorman's, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, Pep Boys all carry the 3M trim adhesive tape.

I just installed mine.I attached my 16ft light strip to the bottem of the track where my awing attaches to the RV so they shine down and reflect off the white gel coat on the rv (in direct lighting).I used hot glue.I peeled the backing off the 3m adhesive strip and applied hot glue as I pressed the light strip to the track. Make sure you clean the track real good. I wiped mine down with acetone first. Also make sure you wear heat resistant gloves because hot glue is really HOT.. (I have the burnt finger tips to prove it).So far it holding well but it's only been a month or so.Some of my friends attached thier lights to the awing canister.I didn't like that because they kind of shine in your eyes when you are sitting outside.

What is the best 5mm, clear, reusable sticky tape to use inside Montana rv. The walls have a bit of a texture and most stick to smooth surfaces. Thanks!!
