A new experience with level up

There's a first time for every thing. We got to our new site, unhooked and pushed auto level. It didn't. I kept getting a message saying "not level". DUH!!!! Any way I raised the front end where I was fairly level front to back and pushed auto level again. It worked. That's not the end of the story.

While we were doing all the other stuff I noticed that the front left leg was off the ground a good inch. Now we have been in situations where the tires have been off the ground but not one of the jacks. I retracted the front jacks enough to bring it to ground level and all seems to be good. In the past we usually put some additional blocks under the front to help in a situation like this but we got lazy. I wonder how many other situations we have been in where this would have happened if we didn't have the extra blocks?

Has anyone else experienced this?

I do not have level up (wish I did). But am curious. Does that mean that leg had reached its maximum extension and could go no further? Would walking inside toward that corner caused the frame to twist enough to make the leg go to the ground?

Only had it happen 1 time and the site was REALLY unlevel and I just put I plastic chock under the 1 ram and pushed autolevel again and good to go! ,the system does have it's limitations in a really bad site but like I said out of the 2 years we have used it we have only stayed at one site that was that bad that one of the rams came off the ground

We haven't had it happen yet, but some folks in the past have had to restart their computer. When they installed mine the tech showed me a little red plug that I can unplug for a minute or so and then plug back in and that's supposed to let the computer reset if necessary. As I said we've never had to use it.

Came back and hooked up, retracted all jacks and put some blocks under the front jacks. It did not want to auto level again but the second try worked. I need to do a search and find how to reset. Thanks

When you say, "It did not want to auto level again....." do you mean it would not even try to level or that it would try and simply could not or would not level because it was too un-level or something was wrong with the auto level system? We're still fairly new to the auto level system and want to be aware of any problems. Thanks for any info. Dennis

I have had that happen. It was because the site was sloped very bad. I just added some blocks under the one side.

Dennis, I'm pretty sure it was just too unlevel to auto level. After we placed the blocks, the first time we tried to auto level I got the same error message as in my first posting. I didn't do anything this time and tried the auto level again and it worked. I think it was just too much un level to work properly. I have experienced it once before and I manually set the jacks and adjusted accordingly. This is the first time that I experienced a jack leaving a gap with the ground.

We have also found that it has to be .... kind of level or it will not level. The leveling jacks have only so much travel and if they exceed that limit attempting to level it just will not level. We can after one year eyeball the distance between the retracted jack and the ground a put a block under the jacks that need it. It does not happen often but it can happen.

Does anyone have the exact distance that the legs will travel on the level up system?

I THINK it is 18 inches. I do not have the book in front of me...

It is 20 inches on the front and 15 inches on the other 4.
