Fridge works on gas, no workee on electric

After a long "winter/spring" finally took cover off the trailer and chekcing things out for a trip back to the midwest and have found that the fridge works great on "gas", but when I which it to Auto mode the yellow light cycles on and off and there is a "click" that I can hear. Switching it back to gas you hear the burner kit on and everything is hunky dory.

Any ideas??

Battery switch on ? Any breakers tripped? Power at your plug-in?

Battery switch is on, tried running the slides out and the realized I needed the batteries, so off the charger and out of the garage they came. 50a service at the house and in the coach.

And the only breakers that I know of are in the fuse/distribution box and none of them are labeled refrigerator. In fact the one labeled micro, when you flip it off, the microwave display does not go out..... Has me wondering how well all the breakers labelled (sp).

My Fridge was in line with a GFI wired outlet. Check in the kitchen area and see if a GFI outlet has tripped. You should have access to the outlet from the outside. Unplug there and plug into an extension cord as an alternate check.

To my surprise there are three outlets in the kitchen area all have stickers on them stating that they are GFCI protected, but the only place that there is an actual GFCI outlet to "test and reset" is in the bathroom.
Will check some more things tonight.

It is customary electrician practice (which is surprising for our rigs??) for all down-stream receptacles and even switches from a GFCI receptacle to have stickers applied since they are indeed protected by the upstream GFCI receptacle on both the line and load side. Now I will have to have a look see to see if ours is similar!

I was surprised that there wasn't a resetable (sp?) one in the kitchen area as the outlet is no more than a foot and half away from the sink. But what do I know, I am just a lowly partsman.....

But if you stayed any amount of time in a Holiday Inn Express.........., then you qualify as a forum expert and can offer prolific amounts of wisdom and inane contributions to any thread that you see fit. I am still amazed that there may actually be some semblance of electrical standards utilized that I was not aware of with regards to our rigs! Besides, what you are stating about the test/reset being in the kitchen makes sense, which therefore makes it highly improbable to happen! Kind of like functional sinks rather than having to wear a hardhat to brush your teeth!! Back to the topic, did you try John's idea of actually plugging the fridge into a known reliable outlet? I think that eliminating the fridge itself would be a wise first step in the troubleshooting process. Curious as to how this turns out, keep us informed!

Hey Parts Ed, we had the same issue and this is what we found. Here is what I wrote in my post: "So, we finally found the problem with our fridge not working on AC. It turns out the plug (it's flat, clear, and rectangle) that is used to go from a round cord to romex had one of the wires not pushed down all the way and the plastic cap that keeps the 3 wires pushed down had popped up. This plug is under the fridge on the inside. Once we removed the cover from under the fridge, we found it."

GGI test plug is in our 08 kitchen area. Newer models according to this thread are now elsewhere?

Is the fridge plugged into the "chassis" just like a regular appliance?? I know that you don't have the same model, but it is a "generic" question..... lol

Take the lower outside cover off and you should see where the fridge is plugged into 110 volts.
