When you think you are right....

....You might be wrong. I put in a new recessed halogen fixture and it still popped the 15A fuse (head scratching). The lights are wired in parallel. Two wires coming to and out from the fixture. Three white wires together and two stripe and one black together. Now it works. I created the short by forgetting how I took it apart. The fixture was not damaged. So the bottom line is that I have a spare fixture, the price of tuition on my learning curve. I thought I had damaged the original fixture but I was wrong.

I am a member of that club. Take something apart thinking no problem putting it back together. Then when it comes time to put it back together, I am thinking "I wish I had marked all those parts/wires".

Spare parts are a very GOOD thing!

Stiles, we have ALL been there, done that, and most likely will a few more times. We feel your angst!

I've learned the hard way trying to remembering how things go back together.I now use my digital camera and take the pictures as I'm dismantling something.when I start to put the item back together I put the sd card in the computer and look at the pictures.

Carol, Spare parts are sometimes a good thing. Almost never when there are spare parts left over after putting anything together

I was wrong once - Er! No! Make that just mistaken. DW says I'm never wrong.

Stiles, I too made a mistake once. I thought I was wrong but it turned out that I wasn't. Bob

Taking pictures with the digital camera before disassembly has saved me more than once
