W/D Fit

We have the Spendide 2100 on the normal W/D closet of the 3400RL. Even though the W/D is as far to the left as it can go, and the folding door opens as far to the right as it will go, the door still blocks about half the control dial on the Spendide. I tried swapping the door around, so it opens the other way...then it blocked the opening where the detergent is placed.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Tom,
Our solution was to leave the door as it was but to modify it slightly. We changed it from a bi-fold to a rigid swinging type door. We added cabinet type catches on the left side and leave the black center door pin intact. Others have taken the same approach and may be able to tell you where to find photos.

I did the thing Bingo said, worked okay but not great. Part of the control was still covered. Finally went to Wally World and got non-mortise hinges (3), and hinged the door. Works great, the door no longer blocks the controls when opened. While at it I shimmed the opening to bring it into square.

We did the same as Bingo. We have the Ariston (Splendide) stackable w/d. We have good clearance on all dials and doors on both units. The single Splendide 2100 must have different dial positions that cause problems...

I swapped ours to the left where the doors block the detergent tray, but I actually have enough access to get what I need in there. I think the only thing I can' treach is the fabric softener hole.
