Dometic Thermostat constant fan on question

We have a 2016 Montana with two air conditioners. The front one in the bedroom will not run continuously with the fan set in the low position. There are three settings for the fan, Auto, Hi and Low. If you select Auto the fan will cycle on and off with the compressor. Set to Hi the fan will run continuously wether the compressor is on or off and continues all day if you leave it as such. Now here's the problem, when set to Low, the fan will run continuously wether the compressor is on or off but will only continue to do so for a couple of hours, then shuts off. The front air unit will run continuously on Low for how ever long you leave it like that. We like to sleep with the fan on continuously on low so we have air circulation but like I said after a couple of hours it shuts off. Any ideas what is goin on?

Sounds like crossed wires. Are you still under warranty? If so, I would have the dealer fix it.

Not sure at all about the new units on our rigs, but some home units will shut the fan off and turn a heater on if they sense they are freezing up. Low fan combined with high humidity will cause the older units to freeze up in our rigs.

We like the air movement as well, but we use a more efficient means...a small fan that sits on the dresser at the foot of the bed. Multiple speeds, can aim up/down or point wherever. Hard to say what is going on with your bedroom unit, but think dick has the most obvious answer. John

We also use a seperate fan in the bedroom to accomplish the same thing.

Brought it into the Dealer. They are not too bright there. They only ran it on high-which I explained worked fine but never tried the low setting. They also said they fixed three other items but never touched them. Going back again.

Question why would you go back to a dealer who don't know what they are doing and lies to you? Maybe the only one in the area??? Just asking is all.

We are having issues with our upstairs AC as well. We do not have the dual zone thermostat, we have one in the main living area, which controls the rear AC and furnace, and we have a separate thermostat upstairs, that controls the front AC. If I have it set to AUTO, and set the tmep, it will not cycle on and off based on the temperature setting. I asked the dealer about it, they told me it was normal, that the second thermostats simply turns the upper AC on or off...seems weird to me, I might follow up with keystone or dometic to find out the real deal.

I called Dometic, and they just gave me a number for an authorized repair center, other than camping world, and said they do not offer tech support...

OK, to anyone following this, I called Dometic today. Keystone, and another Dometic dealer.
Here is what I found out, Dometic gave me the number to one of there dealers, other than Camping World. I called Keystone, one of their techs confirmed what I thought, that the second thermostat upstairs should cycle the upstairs AC on and off as needed, when set to Auto.
My third call was to the Dometic Service Center I was given the number for, and I found out a ton. He also confirmed that the thermostat set to Auto should cycle the unit on and off with the compressor as needed when called for from the thermostat. Said it was either a bad board on the AC, or a bad thermostat. Told me to swap the thermostat with the one in my main cabin, and that will tell me where the problem is.
He also said, which pertains to the other issue on this thread, that the LO setting on AC should NEVER be used, as it causes it to freeze up, which will , in some cases ,shut the unit down. His recommendation is to always use the Auto mode so it cycles as needed, or if you want the constant on, to use the HI mode.
Hope this all helps out.

I live in a RV park that has no trees. Extremely hot. Should I leave my unit on Auto? Probably never will shut off due to temperature outside. Or high fan all the time. I am a full timer and newbie. Just need to know how to get the most out of my dometic unit and keep it running well.
