How does everyone Travel with Residential Fridge

Have just changed to a residential fridge and after a short drive found that it was a mess when we arrived at the RV park. No rough roads, no extreme issues during the drive. RV fridge would not have even been affected by the trip.
Is there a secret to preparing the residential model for travel? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Keep 6-pack cardboard and put beer back in in. Wedge other glass containers behind soft stuff or leave in the doors. Open fridge doors one at a time at your destination, carefully. If stuff is still jumping around there is too little stuff in your fridge or your RV is really riding rough.

We don't travel with a lot of food. We mostly buy once we park. The things we do take in the fridge we keep in the doors and the drawers. No problems.

Thanks for the input. We will adjust and make another attempt at this next week. I guess we all have to experience one mess just for a learning experience.

Go to Wally World and buy some spring loaded curtain rods and position them in the Fridge to help keep stuff in place.

we travel with a good load in ours and have had no issues. load the doors first and make sure everything is tight no slideing around. then the beer and water goes in the crisper drawers. everything else rides fine. I freeze some jugs of water and put one in the fridge and two in freezer and after 8 hours even the ice stays frozen hard ours does not run on an inverter.

We bought spring bars here and they should help snug things together and add stability to the taller items.

In addition to some of the recommendations above, something else to consider is getting some of the silicon baking sheets and using them for refrigerator shelf liners. They reduce stuff sliding around. We picked up a couple of packages at Costco and put them on the glass shelves. Stuff stays where we put it now.

Hello Dmcgrew,
We're into our 3rd and final month in Mesa. Now that the temp is in high 80s and low 90s the 4 door Domestic in our 3610 struggles and climbs into the 40,41 temp range int the day time so I'm going for a residential swap this summer. Any tips or issues you encountered when you changed is appreciated.
Thanks

Try putting a extra fan in the back of the frig to help move more air around. Works great for me.

We travel with a good bit of items in ours as well. When we get ready to hit the road we place all items either in doors or drawers and then arrange items so there will be very little movement when traveling.

Northwest chill,

Since going to the residential fridge we have not experienced any temperature problems. In that aspect the choice of the Residential has been fantasisc!! So Far the only problem has been the ice cream is too hard to scoop! And that is with out any additional fan.

Camping World sells a battery-operated FridgeCool fan around $12 to $16. I haven't used one but it has good reviews.
