Didn't read Instructions

I got my new fire extinguisher and took out of box and promptly cut up box and put in recycling. Didn't read the instructions that they wanted the old one RETURNED! I guess if they want it back, they will have to send me new box for shipping PREPAID. Don't know why they want the old one back. So use to cutting up the boxes when I order on Amazon that I just cut up the box.

It is a liability; they want to make sure it is destroyed.

Instructions is what you read after you did it to see what you did wrong

I used to have a sign in my shop just for the manly bunch that read:

"When everything else fails, read the instructions"

It disappeared during a move

If you email Kidde, telling them that the box with return label was destroyed in shipping, they will probably send at least a new label. Those boxes were pretty puny and even a used Amazon box will work. I just wanted my 4 recalls gone

We were lucky that the recall notice came in before we took the trailer in for warranty service. We just handed them the recall notice and did not have to worry about anything else. Just lucky that it worked out that way.

Having our mail sent to us threw our Escapees address the weight cost may be more than FE, I may take it to an authorized dealer with the recall info or just replace it myself.

I also just replaced the pint size one with a larger one for inside and replaced my older ones outside units with new ones at the same time.
