What is your limit

What is the limit that you would pay for a RV park for a night or per month, excluding State Parks.
Our highest was $44.00 per night at St George, a bit steep I thought.
Our monthly is $192.60 plus electric.
A friend of ours paid $400.00 weekly in an enclosed park.

Many times I have paid $60 - $65 to stay at campgrounds in Myrtle Beach in peak season. Even with fuel costs added in, it is still more economical than renting condos, beach houses, or staying in a motel.

That`s how I look at it. But then DW says don`t forget to add what you paid for the Montana and truck.

My DW and bookkeeper never fails to remind me of the trailer and truck. I just reply that I would have a truck anyway and that she loves the Monty as much as I do. We pay what is necessary to be where we want to be. As surely as we set a limit, we will be forced to exceed it. We have enjoyed the benefits of being members of Coast To Coast. Excellent prices at reasonably good CGs.

Majority of our nights have been under $30. Some have been over $40. And a very few a little over $50. Never over $60 (yet).

We spend March at Beverly Beach Campground in Flagler Beach Fla. every year. It costs us $1400.00 for the full month. Expensive, but we are right on the beach and only a couple miles from my family in Palm Coast.

The worse ever was Beverly Beach Campground in Florida, right on the Ocean, was an average of $100/night as they had different rates for during the week and weekends plus an adder for a holiday weekend, Thanksgiving. Great view, plenty to do, but sardine city on the site sizes. My slides on the road side barely cleared my neighbors awning.

As for seasonal or monthly, where I'm staying now, $483/mo plus electric on a 6 month commitment.

It is all about location ..... French Quarter RV Resort is charging $299 a NIGHT during the BCS National Championship Jan 8 & 9. Mardi Gras is $159 a night if you stay 5 nights and $199 night for 2 to 4 nights.

We have paid close to $100 per night but the location of our site is what cost so much and that was what we wanted. Most of our camping is in the North East
and New England where the prices seem higher than other areas. But it also depends on what the campground has to offer and what kind of hookups you get. I would
say the average in Ct. is around $50 and up per night. State Parks are far less. But getting a site for $56 -$62 per night is not unheard of up here. If we can get
a site for under $40 when we travel- it's like getting the buy of a life-time.

With budget problems in California, a lot of the more popular parks (like the ones on the beach) now cost $68.00 a night for full hookups. So they are in the same range as a lot of the private parks. The ones run buy the Feds though are still fairly reasonable.

I really never thought about a limit. It hasn’t been so outrageous that for one or two nights we couldn’t afford it. If it were for a longer period of time we would certainly have another look at it then. I believe the highest we’ve paid was around $60.00/night. That was however in a touristy area which can only be expected. On occasions it wouldn’t bother me. Such as vacations weekends etc… We really enjoy all of the amenities the Montana has to offer.

Go down to Key West . In off season a few yrs ago we pd $85.00 a nite 6 miles out of Key West. while exnavydiver pd almost nothing on base ..sailer

Sailer you are rite we went to Key West in 02 and stayed on stock island after april 1st and it was 80.00 for an inside site or 90.00 on the water. we only stayed 4 days. I think fort wilderness is 110.00+ but I would love to stay there once!! On the trip out west this pass summer the most we payed was about 45.00 per night.

I don't think anyone can beat RickW! WOW!

The highest price we almost paid a long time ago was $75 per night at Newport Dunes RV Resort in Newport Beach, California and we didn't even get the ocean view. In fact, we needed three adjacent sites for our group of 3 families for four nights of RVing and we were in the farthest sites for any view. The sites were so narrow that when we extended the slides there was only about 12" to the neighbor's slideouts on either side. Our rigs barely fit length wise and we all had to park our trucks overflowing into the campground streets just like everyone else.

The best news what that we were lucky to have a newbie working behind the desk who happened to be the owner's daughter fresh out of college. When we checked in my BIL had her so confused, she charged us for three nights in total (we needed four) and just for one site (we were using three) and she explained it as a "goodwill gift Holiday stay" for our families (she told us she was gonna remind her Dad that she DID NOT want to be left in charge). Because of this, we ended up splitting the cost for each family only $75 total for the four nights. And as tight as the sites were, we still felt like we paid too much. Otherwise it would have been $300 per rig.

What we pay depends on the place and situation. Some places we HAVE to go to (graduations, etc), other places we WANT to visit (beach, etc)...we'll pay more at those places. May even stay at a KOA, if we have to.

We have not paid those rates but we don't travel in the RV when we go to New Orleans. We have a nice little family run hotel that we prefer to stay in that is in the heart of the French Quarter close to Jackson Square. The prices just prove my point of location ... We have stayed all over the country. The Florida Keys, Boyd's and Fiesta Key rang the bell at around $110er night. That is one reason we love state parks.
