This time of year you cannot really expect our gas prices to go down much as it is tourist season here in southern Oregon. Our diesel in the Rogue Valley is about $2.53 now, which has gone down some but not enough considering heating season is over. We were fortunate over the weekend to get it for $2.45 per gallon at Seven Feathers Truck Stop in Canyonville, which is usually the cheapest gas between here and Roseburg.

I just got fuel at the Flying J in Post Falls, ID. $2.26 a gal Eastern Washington is running $2.66 - $2.69 a gal. Makes it well worth the 30 mile round trip to hit ID for fuel.

I'm seeing 2.139 for diesel in Pigeon Forge, TN. Here in Gatlinburg, 5 miles south of Pigeon Forge, it's 2.179.

It's pretty sad when we jump for joy as the prices drop towards two bucks. The oil companies win again.

$2.629 in my neck of the woods today for diesel, so it has dropped a bit. I believe 52 cents a gallon is state tax.

Today, in Gatlinburg, TN, diesel is still 2.179. Five miles north, in Pigeon Forge, it's 2.139. In Sevierville, a couple of miles north of Pigeon Forge, it's 2.059. So I stopped and filled 'er up. I hope this trend continues and does so rapidly. We are on the road again come Friday.

In nearby Winder, I found diesel today for $2.059. I hope this decrease in diesel prices is not a false spring just before Memorial Day…

We have to call our represenatives in Washington. I got a letter back from mine. Everybody has to complain. We complain on these web sites but not to our politicans, give them an ear full. When crude oil goes up the gas and diesel goes up twenty five cents a shot, when crude drops as it has been, gas comes dowm one or two cents or none at all, something is wrong

Imagine my surprise to see diesel lower than regular for the first time in a very long time. It is $2.41 with regular about $2.49. It is still too high but a lot better than it has been.

Don, it is interesting what we think is low compared to the rest of the country! Roy saw diesel yesterday for $2.31 with regular still about $2.47. I imagine it will pop back up by Friday for the holiday weekend, but it is good to see.
