Campgrounds

Hello to all! We are planning a trip to the Fort Meyers/Sanibel area soon and are looking for a nice campground that will accomodate our 2004 3400RL. We aren't much on the "parking lot" style campsites.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Rocknmom

Stayed there several years ago in a campground on left just before the bridge over to Ft Myers beach. Was ok but not great. Think it was San Carlos. Did not see anything on Ft. Myers Beach enticing. Sanibel Island had one rv park which was full and stayed that way. Waiting list on getting in there. Sanibel is a marvelous place. There were some campgrounds in Ft. Myers off the beach that looked fairly descent. Sorry don’t have any names for you. Check the web. There are campgrounds in Ft. Myers which look good, on the web anyway.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer!! Yeah, the one on Sanibel didn't look too cool on their web-site. We booked a resevervation at Fort Meyers Beach RV Resort, which looks nice and is 6 mi from Sanibel. It's one of those that is not on the beach, but was appealing on their web-site, anyway. We HAVE learned that web-sites can be deceiving, though! I will post a review when we get there to fill everyone in!

Hi Everyone:

We are planning to stay in Wisconsin Dells in mid August for a week or so. Can anyone recommend one campground over another in that area? Thanks for the information in advance and I Cetainly do enjoy this site. Thanks again.

We just came in off a trip and found the KOA in Buffalo, TN to be small uneven cramped. Would not recommend. Stayed at KOA in Newburgh NY. Good camp ground close to West Point and a tour into NYC. Would not REPEAT would not recommend Lakeside Resort in Brookfield MA. To many minus' to relate. The Pumpkin Patch in Bangor, ME is highly recommended; large spaces level and the owners were ever so nice and helpful.

Hi Rocknmom, We stayed at a campsite outside of Port Charlotte in the spring. It was a nice place and the ppl very helpful and friendly. Theres lots of room and you can have campfire if you want. Just make sure you request a site with shade this time of year. The place was called Riverside CG w/ an Arcadia address. Good Luck

We just got back from Fort Meyers RV Beach Resort. Very nice. Lots of fulltimers and well kept. Fabulous pool and pool area!! Super friendly people running it! Would recommend highly! Only con: costs $3.00 to cross causeway TO Sanibel, but not bad unless you're back-and-forth alot. If that's the case, Periwinkle RV park is on the island. Not as nice and tidy but has beach access. Just FYI. Thanks for all the input from responders!
