Auxillary Fuel Tank

Does anyone have experience with Transfer Flow products. I am interested in installing an additional fuel tank in my Dodge CTD.

You don't state what year. I have a 2012 3500 long bed and replaced the 35 gal OEM tank with their 60 gal mid tank which fit in the same space. I like the extra legs.

I like their products and if/when I get a "new" truck, I will be installing one in the bed of it.

I installed a 60 gal. tank in the bed. A great addition. RonD is right, it's nice to be able to plan where you will get fuel well in advance.

I installed a Titan 52gallon in place of the stock 26 gallon on my 2007 Chevy. One of the best investments I made

I had a 60 replacement Transfer Flow tank installed 3 months ago. We live about 12 miles from Chico where Transfer Flow is located and I am very happy with the tank and the installation. Transfer Flow products are well built and in my opinion are the best.

I have a F-350 short bed and installed the 50 gallon transfer flow as an additional tank. I would not be without it.

As a matter of interest, adding a second or larger tank under the new Ford Diesels is complicated by the location of the DEF tank, making a bed install the primary option. Not familiar with where GM put their DEF tank.

We have a Dodge 3500 megacab and had the stock tank replaced with a 56 gal one from Transfer Flow 5 years ago and love it.

I had the OEM tank replaced by the 56 gallon TF tank. More fuel and did not lose any bed space.

On edit...I wanted to be able to drive all day (a normal day) without having to refuel.

No problem installing a 50 gal TF in a 2012 Ford F350 short bed with DEF tank.

I had a 50 Gal Transflow tank in my 2007 F350 short bed. Traded the truck and now have a 37 Gal tank in my 2011 F450. I wouldn't be without one.

We have a 70 gallon Transfer-flow tank in our truck, we now have a 1,000 mile towing range, we love it.

We have a Transfer Flow 53 ( I think it's 53) gallon tank that replaced the oem tank on our 2006 3500 Cummins MegaCab ( short bed) and it works very well. I love being able to drive the entire day without having to refuel. I ran it pretty low the first time out to see how it filled when it was low. No problem except the sticker shock when we filled it. We only have 95,000 miles on the truck so it'll be a long time before we trade it, but if I did I would have a bigger replacement tank installed in place of the oem tank.

I have a 71 gal fuel tool box combo made by RFD Perry,FL. purchased out of Northern Supply Catalog. It was way less in price than a Transfer Flow unit. Installs in the truck bed even with bed rails, with fittings for both direct fuel feed or as I did with the on tank pump which gives me freedom to pump my tank out if needed. I have the unit in my 2001 Dodge 3500 since 2004. It was great back then because of the wide spread on diesel fuel prices and I was transporting RV's. Hard to find much difference in diesel fuel prices these days.

Ours is a 40 gal custom built gravity feed that fits in the bed of the truck. This is our second truck done with this type of install and this time we had it made to fit 4 inches below the top of the bed rails. At a glance it cannot be seen. We can't imagine traveling now without that extra capacity.

We installed an ATI (atitank.com) 40 gallon tank in our 2011 Dodge 3500.
It is a gravity feed into your filler neck. When your existing fuel gage starts to move you know you have gone thru your aux tank. I like the no wires, very simple installation of the system. Allows us to carry approx 70 gals of fuel with original and aux. Priced around $600 - $700, if I remember correctly including shipping from Florida.

I drooled over the add-on tanks for quite awhile, but with a short bed and a desire to carry lots of tools I could not find a way to make it work. I spent tons of time at Northern Tool in Burnsville, MN when visiting our daughter and found that the tanks they sell seem to be very well made. The kit that allows continuous replenishment of the oem tank looked pretty neat also.

Just got back from a weekend in Virginia with the horses. With diesel prices at $4.15 in Ohio and $4.21 in West Virginia, the $3.85 price in Virginia seemed like a bargain. With those kind of price differences, I'm now shopping for an add on tank.
