Help, 50 Amp Male Plug Replacement Question

I purchased a Camco 50 amp Power Grip male plug replacement for my electrical hookup cord and installed exactly as the instructions said.
Green to Green, White to White, red to red and Black to black. Just for grins, I ohmed out the old plug and found the red and black are on opposite sides from the original plug. On the new plug, Red is at 3 o'clock and black is at 9 o'clock looking at the plug from the plug side, not the handle side. The old plug, black and red are reversed. Green and white wires are the same on both plugs. I need help before I plug this thing in. I did nothing to the female end of the plug that hooks to the RV.

The two hot lines are interchangeable...just be sure neutral is mated to neutral and ground is mated to ground.

You're cool. Tom is right, the two hot wires are interchangable. Go for it.
