2 Days To Go
Just 2 more days and I finish over 43 years of government service (23 in uniform and 20 civilian). We have the Montana ready to go and by noon Monday, we will be on the road out of Omaha.
We plan to ease doen US-65 through Missouri to Lake Village, Arkansas. Visit with the kids, grand-kids, and great-grand-kids then head west on on US-82 all the way to Alamogordo,NM. It should take about 2 weeks to get there.
No more schedules, no more alarm clocks, no more morning commutes. Yahoo!!!!!!

Just remember, no more vacation days, no more sick days, and no more weekends. You will have to look at the calender to know what day of the week it is and if you are like me the only reason you will wear a watch is to be sure to make your tee-time. And most importantly once you are retired in the full mode you won't even think of saying or writing "it should take about 2 weeks to get there". It might take 2 hours or 2 months or 4 months or 2 years, you get the point.

Congratulations, Lasater!
I'm probably too late to catch you and I think you're going to be running a bit east of us but if you happen to get into the vicinity of Independence, MO, in the KC area, be sure to look us up or give us a holler and we'll come see you.

THE WORST THING ABOUT BEING RETIRED, YOU NEVER GET A DAY OFF.

Hi Tom and Sherry. Both my wife and i were raised in and graduated from Ephrata High School. I retired from the Grant County PUD in 2001. Worked at Wanapum Dam when i retired. We should be in Casa Grande also the last part of January. We have been full timing since June 05 and loving it. Hope to meet you somewhere down the road.....Les
