Chain Link Fence vs. Montana
Hey Gang
Well it happened, while backing in the Montana I scraped the corner of the nose on a gate post. It put a bunch of deep scratches on the edge and pulling off some of the molding.
Anyone know if and how to fill in those scratches. There are scratches on the nose and on the side wall by the edge.
I feel so stupid, I've backed the rig in so many times, I just didn't see that post jump in front of me...chuckle..chuckle
Hope to hear back from you guys with some repair hints ....

Sorry you got scratched but it could have been worse. Contact a fiberglass boat dealer and see what they say. Of course that is after checking with the Montana dealer.

John has the same idea as I was thinking to tell you. A good fibreglass shop can take care of that so it would look like the post never met the Montana.

Had some stress cracks in my rear cap near a tail light (wish they'ed go to round ones instead of square), & Keystone directed my dealer to take it to a fiberglass repair shop (warranty). You'd never know it had been repaired...

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger on this one. Many of us have met us with a tree, fence post, concrete pillar, you name it. It's amazing how moveable and, at the same time, immoveable they can be.

Our previous 5th wheel came out of the hitch while pulling away one time and we had it fixed at a boat dealer. They work with fiber glass all the time. You could never tell it was dropped.

Go to your local Marine store. They have a product, gel coat patch paste repair. This product works great. Comes in a varity of colors. Comes with directions and if you take your time small repairs come out great.

Second time we brought our previously enjoyed Montana home a tree jumped out while hubby was backing - cracked and scuffed the fiberglass at the top of the cap and bottom. He found a fiberglass repair kit and paint at Wally World and fixed the damage himself - unless you examine the Monty VERY closely you can't tell where the damage was. I would think a fiberglass repair/boat shop would be the place to go though if you have any doubts about doing this type of work yourself, or your Monty dealer service center.
