Offensive odor from water source in vanity sink

We have a strange odor coming from the water source in our bathroom vanity faucet. We thought it was the holding tank at first but it is coming from the water. The shower and the galley water do not have this problem. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Try sanitizing the water tank and the water lines. Put a couple of cups of bleach in your water tank and fill the tank to a third. Take the camper for a ride so the water will wash the walls of the tank. Then run water thru all the water lines. You will smell the bleach. This should take care of the problem. Drain the tank, fill and flush a couple of times and you should be all set.

sounds like you may have gotten some sulfur water. we had that problem with ours. I know where we got it. The only time you could smell it was when we run hot water in the bath sink. I bought some Spring Fresh to flush the tanks and lines. We tried everything else with no luck. You can get it at Camping World

Welcome Frank to the MOC Family...

I am going to follow this thread closely as we have pretty much the same problem with the COLD water at the vanity. No other lines produce this odor. We did try the bleach thing in the lines but maybe I didn't leave it sit in the lines long enough.
It doesn't matter where we get the water from so I don't feel it would be necessary to bother with the freshwater tank. Instead mix a 5 gallon pail with 1/4 cup bleach and fill the rest of the way with water. Use the same pick up tube used for adding antifreeze and add the bleach/water mix to just the vanity line. Keep all other faucets closed. The only question I can't answer is how long do we let the bleach sit in the line before flushing? Tomorrow we will be moving to our 6 month winter campground and so I guess I'll have to give it another try.

I have had a smelly problem from using RV antifreeze in my boat. It seems to take a season to clear the cloying sweet taint from the water. You might try not using RV antifreeze,(if you did), and blowing the lines instead of using chemicals.

On the other hand, if the kitchen sink and shower smell OK, then that can't be the cause.

Something to think about.

Never use antifreeze as we are never in an area where freezing is a problem.
