The table broke!
ok, not the table, but the metal part in the floor where the table legs are inserted. The cup part in the middle completely sheared off of the flat part that attaches to the floor. The legs sank into the insulation under the floor.
Our RV is 2010, and we have owned it for about a month. (we have the 12' couch with two tables) My best guess is that the floor parts were already weak. I can NOT figure out how a 35 pound toddler could lean on the table and break the metal. (our children are not the type who jump on tables)
I was getting pretty aggravated by how wobbly the tables are, but i wasnt expecting this. so, I am now in the market for new tables that have FOUR legs.

Wow, sorry for your troubles. One of my kids could break an anvil with a rubber hammer. LOL Tables should be sturdy for all of us , not just the kids. Hope your search is successful.

X2. Is it possible the floor under the cup got wet at some time, allowing it to flex and cause the cup to shear?

Not familiar with that model, but obviously different than mine as mine has a wood pedastal on the table.
Was the cup welded to the plate on the floor? Sounds like a manufacturing defect or just poor welding. Should not break that easily.
If it is welded, you may be able to take it to a weld shop and have a much better job done on it. We own a day care center and, as Stiles said, those kids can break an anvil. The tables in the rooms all have metal legs welded to plates that attach to the bottom of the tables. The wobbling that goes on thru daily use often breaks the legs from the plates and I have to reweld them. Quick spray job with some "chrome" paint and they look good as new.

I don't think the floor had anything to do with it. The tables are designed to be removed whenever we put the slide in. Legs fit into cup-indentations in the floor. They are metal cups with a ring at floor level. They seem to be a single piece of metal. The ring is where it is screwed to the floor. When the cup-assembly is removed, you can see into the under-floor. I didn't dig around, but visually we could see insulation.
We have two tables side by side in front of the couch. Since we are primarily using one table, we just switched out the cup--parts. The Wobblies I dislike are just inherent to the fact that the table has only two legs. We are going to get our small kitchen table out of storage and see if it will work, at least temporarily. Also plan to look for a folding table at Ikea or Camping world. Needs to be smallish but more important is that it be easy to remove, so we can use the open space in here.
