Where are the holding tanks heater switches?
Hi everyone. Haven't posted in a while - missed ya'll.
We have a '05 3500rl and was wandering; is there a switch for the holding tank heaters? Aren't the heaters standard equipment?
We don't do much cold weather camping, but would like to know just in case.
Appreciate it.

Bob, the way I understand this, is there are no actual " heaters " in the tanks. The furnace duct runnning through the belly pan puts off radiant heat when the furnace is in operation. The belly pan is supposed to be well enough insulated that this amount of heat is sufficient to keep the tanks from freezing. I believe they have been tested to 0 degrees.

And, note, that bigbob7777 has an 05 Montana, which may or may not meet that new 0 degree freezing test.
Anyone know when that started?? Before the improvements, it was only down to mid 20's on the literature.

Bob, I'm pretty sure that no one in this club considers any question or concern silly, I certainly don't.

Same here Old GI, I thought it was a very good question. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't have known either if I hadn't asked my dealer when I bought the trailer, which was a very short time ago. Give me a few more months and I may ask it again. Also, Mrs. CountryGuy added the fact that it's an '05 and may or may not be tested to 0 degrees.
There are no dumb questions, but sometimes the answers may leave something to be desired. Good thing there are so many of us looking after each other.LOL

Bob,
Don't worry - I asked the dealer the same question, as other manufacturers do have electric tank heaters with switches inside.
By the way, I found the belly heater, it's a 2" flex hose that comes straight out of the furnace into the belly and lays next to the tanks.
