Grandson UPDATE #5 ** #6 GOOD NEWS
As the original thread was getting quite long I thought I would begin another.
For those having not seen the original thread here is a link to it...

UPDATE #5
Good news and bad...
Good--John is still making some headway. He had an MRI and they found he wasn't in need of his neck brace. Removing that has given him some comfort. They double checked all possible areas for the infection but found nothing wrong.
Bad--They were lowering his medications but had to stop. He was very disoriented and became rather irritated. Something that is not good considering his condition.
He was also beginning to bloat and they discovered a hole in his long.
The aforementioned infection turned out to be pneumonia.
If anyone would care to send him an online card use the following link..
http://www.lvh.org/lvhn/Contact_Us%7C1124
His name is John Miller
Room J208
Patient's Location is Cedar Crest
Snail Mail Address...
Lehigh Valley Hospital
Cedar Crest & I-78,
P.O. Box 689,
Room J208, John Miller
Allentown, PA 18105-1556
Keep those thoughts and prayers coming.
UPDATE #6
ALL GOOD NEWS
John is finally conscious and talking. Recognizes everyone and his memory before the accident is fine but he has no memory of the accident or the past 2 weeks. He is alert and asking questions about where he is at and how did he get here. My daughter is hesitant about delving to far into the accident itself. He did insist on knowing "how many people died", his words. Dina did finally tell him that there was only one other person involved But John insisted on knowing her condition. She finally did tell him she died.
He is upset and very irritable that he cannot remember. He is not allowed out of bed and doesn't understand why not. His pain medications are working. He wants a meal or at least something to drink but anything by mouth is out of the question.
As I said before John is a fighter. The fact that he survived is proof. Of course everyone's prayers also had a lot to do with that. We are all confident that John will make a full recovery as his personality won't allow anything less.
He was also dumbfounded receiving all the Get Well cards from folks he didn't even know and for that I ersonally want to thank you all.
I am again posting the card link..
If anyone would care to send him an online card use the following link..

And again, Keep those thoughts and prayers coming.

Glenn & Lorraine,
What a neat way to send someone your best wishes during their hosptial stay! I sent him a electronic card and made sure I identified ourselves as MOCers so he would know the origin of the thoughts and prayers for his full and quick recovery.
Thank you for the continued updates on your grandson.
Robin

Very nice Glenn, I sent John an electronic card. Thanks for the up-dates! It sounds like they know more now than they did. With that and all of the prayers for him I expect to hear that he makes a full recovery.

Thanks for keeping us informed about John's progress. I have always felt that our children are miracles when they are born. John has once again shown that he is truly a miracle. Keeping you all close to our hearts and in our prayers. Ken and Marilyn
