MSRP

Is it normal to get 35% or better off MSRP? I am looking around for a 3100RL.

It varies depending on dealer and if you have a trade. Start low and work your way up. If you feel the deal is good, go for it! I would suggest that you get a quote from 3 dealers if possible. There is some advantage to purchasing locally if the dealer is reputable. Owners here will give you the benefit of their experience at a particular dealer if you ask. Plenty of experience here.

When shopping, remember you are also in need of service after the sale. When I buy, I know that I'm getting good service and I'm willing to pay for it.

When I was shopping (Dec of last year), MSRP varied by 10k between two dealers. Same unit with same equipment. It's what you actually pay for the unit that counts. Having said that, I got 30% off of the lowest MSRP I found and I thought it was a fair price. I had no trade in.

When we bought our new 2010 Mountaineer, we got exactly 30% off MSRP.

Six months ago a salesman at Don's RV in Ceres, California, offered me any new Montana on their lot for $45,000 - $48,000, depending on the model. All had both option packages and most of the individual options. OTOH, their closest competitor is 2.5 miles away, and there are two more major dealers within 50 miles, so all four are in a ferocious price war.

CORattler hit the nail on the head. Along with what he states shop the internet dealers and check as many dealers as you can. You will find prices vary a lot. You will then have a good idea as to what you feel comfortable with.
A very important point is to find a dealer that has good service and experienced techs. A good deal with a dealer that does not have good service can leave you frustrated. Buy locally if they fit the bill.

Walnut has some good prices but the drive to Indiana might be expensive. I think I am going to wait until next Winter, when I asked Folsom Lake RV for 35% off msrp they told me good luck and have a nice day.

We got 30% off on ours too. When we were looking we came across 7 different MSRP's while doing research on the 3150rl.
