Which Surge Protector?

We are in the process of looking for a portable surge protector, as per conversation with Keystone the wired in one voids warranty since it is an alteration. Can the 50amp protector be used with 30amp service with an adapter? or do you need both? What is a good recommended brand? Thanks

Voids the warranty on what? The complete coach! You better call back and ask to speak to someone who knows what they are talking about.

Whoever you spoke to needs to read the Magnuson-Moss

I've used the 50 amp portable surge protector hooked up with an adapter to 30 amp service with no problem at all. I highly recommend using a surge protector - much cheaper purchasing the surge protector than replacing high dollar electronics.

Go for the 50 amp and if the CG only has 30 just use a 30 to 50 dog bone

The Keystone Rep needs to do his homework. We have a Progressive 50AMP surge protector which is portable and works with 30AMP service as well. We prefer the portable because we have a tendency to change fifth wheels every few years. Only manufacturer I have used, but extremely happy with the product and the company. You can see their products on ProgressiveIndustries.net. PS When we bought our 2010, the dealer tried to sell us a hardwired box as part of the purchase. So much for warranty concerns.
