fifth wheel covers

I store my fifth wheel in a very hot climate (Fresno, CA). I have problems keeping a material RV cover that will last more then 3 years. Is there a company that makes a good material RV cover that won't fall apart because of sun exposure?

I think that over time all the covers would give up to the sun. I have a Calmark cover on mine. Have had for two years now, not showing any wear. I store my 5th wheel in Modesto, get hot there also. My main reason I cover mine is that it is very close to an orchard that pollenating bees fly back and forth from. If I did not cover it, it takes a while to scrub off all the bee dodo when washing. Many people cover, many don't. I know the Adco cover I had last about two years before it ripped down the middle the lenght of the trailer.

I am thinking of putting a cover on my Monty, we are in Valencia Calif. and it's hot here in the summer. The Calmark cover is made of Sunbrella material and we have Sunbrella for our patio awnings at home. The awnings are 5 years old and still going strong. My problem is how to get the cover on the 5er without breaking my neck.

Sunbrella is an excellent fabric choice. I have used it in the Florida sun for Bimini Tops, Fly bridge covers and aft cockpit covers, continually exposed to the Florida sun and got about nine years out of the material. However, the stitching gives up about year three to four and it needs restitched occasionally. It is the Dacron thread that is not as hardy as the Sunbrella fabric, so I would imagine a large RV cover would suffer the same fate. Also, if you get one, the only protectant that Sunbrella recommends is Aerospace 303 for fabric. It just takes plenty of it and based on the size of our fifth wheels, about two gallons a year at about $65 a gallon wouldn't surprise me. As a side note, Sunbrella is a 9.3 oz fabric, so the cover will be heavy. It's not something I would want to put on and take off every time I wanted to go camping. Additionally, if you are in a windy area, the cover will most likely need very secure tie downs to prevent abrasion.
