I-5 northbound @ Antlers Road. *Yikes!*
5/27/2011@ 10:10am: So, if you are traveling north on I-5 and see a 5th wheel (without any decals), white Dodge truck, on the side of the road... That's us. A passenger side tire shredded and took the skirting with it.
On our way to Lake Siskiyou.
AAA arrived at 10:40am. Thank goodness for road service. Don't leave home without it.

Margee,
Sorry for your problem, but glad to hear you're being taken care of. Your site is being held for you.

The spare needed air and the tow truck didn't have it. Just made it north to the next exit and then back south on I-5 to the Shell station off Antlers Rd. That was real "iffy" if we were going to make it on that dead tire. Now scrambling for quarters as we have to pay for air.
I see a seedy looking bar nearby, "The Klondike Club". It's looking pretty good to us but as much as we want to hit it up, we are just like our MOC name and are, "On The Road Again.".
*Yeehaw*. I love adventure.

Klondike Club is yes a seady little bar....Dave has been in it, in his youth.Hope all is well and you are at Lake Siskiyou now. We have learned to ask if the tow truck will be able to air up tires....now we check spare tire air at the same time as rig tires before hitting road.

DandT: Yeah, we've decided we shouldn't be so anxious to get on the road. Next time we'll be checking our spare. Bought a new tire today here in Shasta, cost $245. *LOL. It's also time for us to replace the other 4 so we'll do that back home. Lesson learned.

Did you get your tire at Les Schawb just down the road toward Weed? We've used their services several times. I know you are having fun and sure wish we could have been there again this year. How was the buffet at Rolling Hills? That will, of course, be one of our stops on the way north. Later, Dennis

You might consider replacing tires while in Oregon, no sales tax! We heard thru the grapevine that Costco might be carrying G614's...not certain. But worth looking into to save 8-9%.

Hi Dennis, the dinner buffet at Rollins Hills was just ok. We arrived just before they closed so not much left. The breakfast buffet the next morning was great. We used the Shasta Tire Center in Shasta as Doug hates anything to do with a Les Schwab center.
DandT: unfortunately we are not headed to Oregon.
