GA to Ocean City MD - tunnel ok?

We have a trip to Ocean City MD coming up and the Good Sam trip planner shows us going through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel - is that ok with a 40' fifth wheel?? Sounds scarey to me.....

Talk about expensive campgrounds!!! $105 a night! Sticker shock to me. Hope that's not the norm out there....???

Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Bridge Tunnel is not a problem. We went from VA Beach to Dover, Delaware using that route. Expensive ($28 for truck and trailer in 2012) but less than the fuel required to drive around. As I remember, you need to make sure your propane is turned off.

Yes tunnel is fine....the only problem we ever had was with wind restrictions a few years ago....seems like it if 25 or 30 mph and they wont let you cross...but that is not very often....have a good ride...you will enjoy the trip across the bridge...not too high anywhere....east ride...

We also had no problems southbound in 2012. Yes, had to be sure the propane was off. And ditto the cost vs driving all the way around!

Pull off just before the toll and turn pronae tanks off. There is a rest/parking area at the north end where you can stopp to turn propane back on. Enjoy the ride!

If you would consider heading further north into New Jersey, consider the Lewes, DE to Cape May, NJ ferry. It's about a hundred bucks but cheaper than the fuel it would take driving around.

We have done the bridge tunnel many times and no issues....

Propane is no longer an issue for us as after seeing Mac the Fire Guys presentation at the Circling of the Montanas in Quartzsite this year we do not run with the propane on while we are driving any more. We started this on the way back from Q to Texas and hardly saw any issue with the frig.
