Stablizer stands

I bought the set of four stabilizer stands. Up until now I have placed those underneath a secton of the frame near the wheels. On the trip I am no now I placed two on the frame and two under the bottom most flat section of the springs. I do not have these stands under the Mor-Ryde contraption. The 5er feels as stable as ever.

Am I right or wrong for placing stabilzer stands underneath the springs? Will that damage anything? Seems like I remember reading somewhere to not do that but I can't figue out what possible damange that would cause.

thanks for your responses.

You will have to educate me. What is a "stabilizer stand". I am sure there are those on here who know. But I do not.

I have always placed mine on the frame to try to take the suspension bounce out of the rig. Haven't had a chance to use them on the new rig but on the 3400 I placed them just in front of the axles on the frame and just behind the axles on the frames as well. I would say that it took about 80-90% of the bounce out of the rig. I would also place blocks under the jack stands so that the screw extension would only be about 2-3 inches from the top of the jack stand itself. I would not think there would be as much benefit unless you were jacking the springs up to take the bounce out, but possibly.....

For those interested in the stack jacks, I've seen them at Walmart in the RV section of automotive. I think their original intent is for travel trailer stabilizing. In fact, I bought some at Walmart and used them until I decided to make it just a little easier on myself and installed scissor jacks bolted to the frame. The stack jacks help probably just as much as the scissor jacks, though.
