Beard for Rally
In honor of our tenth Goshen Rally and the fact this is Amish area, I recommend that all of the men sport beards to this year's Rally. We could even have a contest. Just to try it out, it takes about two months to sport a decent beard. All you guys, there are still four months to style that perfect beard. We already had some guys with impressive facial hair. Don't forget to pick the perfect hat to go with that beard - Abe Lincoln style?

Now here's a guy that recently retired and has way toooo much time to think things up. Either that or the "good idea fairy" visited him. Growing a beard during a midwest summer Is something done once.

LOL, Rames!
The part I'm not fond of is no mustaches are typically allowed (DW will not allow me to remove mine and I kinda agree). I hope the Amish don't take offense when a bunch of "English" show up sporting their beards which are quite important in their faith. However, most Amish I have met are very accomodating for our weird habits and won't try to shoo you away with a pitchfork, we hope. If that does happen, a quick razor will solve this problem.
Full beards with mustaches would be fun. Besides me not being able to attend, I'd need more than two months to grow a beard (it's the part Native Mexican-American in me). I hope you all report how this turns out.

Pineranch and I are of like mind. I'll be on the sidelines. No beard growing in a Kansas summer heat.

My DH grew one only once, and I hope he never does again. Even the Duck Dynasty guys need a beard and hair trim. I look forward to seeing everyone else's though, just not on my DH.

I've had my beard since 1976....never ever shaved it off...even as a firefighter,, I was happy when they came out with positive pressure air masks, worked ok if I kept it short, can't do that today though. Nobody has ever seen me without it even my kids. I have had a beard long before the Duck guys made it cool to have one lol lol lol.....even in Texas, keeps my face from getting sunburned lol lol

Works for me Ron, although growing more hair doesn't (losing more than I ever had).
You up to running the contest? I'm sure we can come up w/some kinda prize - maybe a new razor ???

How about a contest for the ladies. The winner gets to shave the winning beard.

NCFishers... I'm not following correctly. Is the ladies contest for growing the best beard or for shaving the men or women afterwards.
Richfaa has my vote....

You know that the only reason Gen'l Lee handed Grant his sword was because he smelled whiskey on his breath, saw his scraggly beard and mistook him for a blacksmith, he just wanted it sharpened.
