Michigan Campgrounds

I am going to Michigan later this month for about 3 weeks. I wanted to be close to my Daughters home in Milford, and the closest is Camp Dearborn. Reserving 10 days at this place has been like "pulling teeth" although I have finally done it. My question is, have any of you stayed at a campground or RV park close to Milford that you would recommend for my next trip? Have any of you stayed at Camp Dearborn? Your thoughts, experiences etc. would be appreciated.

Here is the website for Michigan State parks.

While I have no experience with parks in that area, generally, we have enjoyed others. Typically state parks do not have full hook ups, though some do.

Being from Michigan the state parks are great and have camped at a lot of them. The only issue would be not many have full hook ups and that might be a problem for some. and they only allow you 15 days to stay.

My daughter also lives in Milford and their house backs up to Camp Dearborn. In that area
there are alot of seasonals. As mentioned above, our State Parks are great if you can do
without sewer hookups. I might talk to her later and see what her opinion is of that C.G.

A friend has lived in Milford for 10 years. He says Camp Dearborn is a nice park. Another option, though it is a little further from Milford, is Haas Lake. Gives you another option to look into.

Went to the Haas Lake CG site. Little pricier than I like, but I'm gonna check it out when I get to Michigan. Looks like a very nice place. I will let y'all know when I get back.

We live about 30 miles from Milford, MI. We, usually camp at Michigan State Parks. We though, do not mind having to dump after our visit and will use "onboard" water. State parks will not offer full hookups, in Michigan, and most will only have 30A service. Bishop Lake, near Brighton is a favorite for us, and would be close to Milford. Haas lake, is a bit pricey and we, do not think the "Atmosphere" is the most pleasant, especially as we like the more rustic settings.

Made it to Michigan a couple days ago. After reading some real negative reviews on Camp Dearborn, I had my daughter go over to Haas Lake and look around. Seems she knew the folks that run the place, and booked me a spot right on one of the lakes. I am so happy, I just may stay. Lots of long term folks, but it's an extremely well kept campground. Limited access too, so you don't have any "looky lou's" running around. Campground is patrolled regularly and they have real decent sized spaces, which made it easy for me to back into in the pitch black of night. Full hookups with daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates.
Thank you bw2 for the suggestion. Will surely be back.

Rob, Just returned from the MOC National Rally and saw your post. How long are you going to be at Haas Lake? We will be camping in the area the weekend of the 10th. John
