Occupy Vegas movement

Well, it needs some prunes. There are around 10 tents and as many people roaming around a fenced lot by UNLV, I think they are just homeless folks that upgraded from the long fence downtown where their cardboard box homes got blown around by a recent windstorm. It ain’t NYC, for sure..
How are the occupy ‘your city’ groups doing?

In boonies of Kansas we're lucky when we can keep the people who live here occupying the town! Chambers of commerce have plans to try and get people to occupy the places.

The police raided the group in downtown Dallas last night and evicted them from the park acros the street from city hall. The movement in Dallas has been lacluster and often a high percentage were homeless individuals from the area.

I think that's pretty universal. The original protestors had a few valid points, but it's been taken over by the homeless, criminal elements, and druggies.

Police in Denver have started clearing out the tents and such. I think they have been very patient, considering.

"Occupy Rising Fawn" has not quite gotten off the ground yet. Our local losers couldn't even decide on one place to squat. The town cops here wouldn't put up with cr*p like that anyway; scares away the tourist.

Thought I was dead, didn't-ch'all? Just been away getting over the old boyfriend blues, feeling sorry for myself. Better now!! Lost 20 pounds and looking... damn... fine...

All six protesters in Casper were holding signage over there heads, when a 60mph gust of wind hit them. The signs were like wings. They should be in Nebraska by now

I think I will go and help occupy Vegas, Think I will occupy a spot at Nickel Charlie's

Actually the occupiers at the court house in Missoula are quit decent and have an open line of communication with the County Commissioners and for the Veterans Day ceremony at the Dough Boy statue on the lawn they cleaned up and moved out for the ceremony and then moved back in after

Allen, I guess you are in Missoula, our very favorite town of this 4500 mile trip. I am not surprised the gathering is orderly, but there are a few wackos there...as in any other city I guess. Sorry to hear about the bullet-holes, could have been worse.
Pat, welcome back. I don't think you can afford to lose 20#, you are down to 'Fighting weight' now

I think Missoula is turning into a western version of our town, Asheville. If these people are permitted to camp downtown, does that mean I can set up our Monty their also? I can complain & belly ache about stuff pretty good at times.

patbarton,

I am from Chattanooga. As I remember Rising Fawn, if the local people wanted a place to occupy, other than the Post Office, they would have to go back to Trenton. Oh yea, there is that BP station on Puddin Ridge Road. They could occupy that.

Brad & Carol,

The presence of protesters would sure put a damper on my custom of doing doughnuts in the Post Office parking lot when the alimony check comes! No other sight like a blonde in a big-*ss pickup doing doughnuts in a tiny parking lot!

Okay, did we miss something Pat? What is the meaning of a Chevy P/U in your signature pic?

The Chevy in my sig is my truck.

The Chevy on its side belongs to my sister Pam, who did her doughnuts a bit too fast. She's such a bad driver... I edited the post and removed the photo so no one here would think that's me standing by that smashed hulk of a truck.
