Companion B&W hitch and 2011 Silverado

Are there any problems using the B&W Companion hitch with a 2011 Chevy Silverado 4x4 3500 long box in reference to bed rail clearance or getting it adjusted to run level? Thank you for your comments.

Don't know about the B&W. I had my Reese transferred from my 05 3500 to my 11. Ordered the custom frame brackets from Reese and install when great. Everything runs level, but I did lose approx 1 to 1 1/2 inch clearance on the bed rails. I measured the bed it's self and was the same between both, but bed rails on the 11 are higher, but was still able to obtain 6 inches clearance.

The best way to get accurate info about B&W hitches is to call tech support. They are very helpful. When I transferred my Companion Hitch to my 2011 F350, they sent to me, without charge, some pads needed to make the transition.

When I had a minor part break, B&W sent me the replacement part and a B&W dealer installed the part, both without charge. It would be difficult to find better service.

If this is any help, I transferred my 16K Husky slider to the new 2011 Chevy 3500HD CC, SB, 4X4, SRW and initially had them raise the hitch height up one notch because I was worried about clearance over the tailgate. After the first tow, I set it back to its lowest level, where it originally was, and it tows great. Plenty of room over the gate.

The B&W Companion sure works good on our 2010 F250 that sets up high due to 20 inch wheels. The hitch has numerous adjustments up/down/back/forward to achieve the maximum clearance available from your king pin and to level out the 5er while keeping the pin over the axle. With the long box you should have no need for a slider.
