New Montana Purchase Questions

We are planning on ordering a new Montana 2980RL well optioned any day now. I am really looking for a good dealer to buy from, I prefer someplace back east close to the factory. We are from California, I have talked to a few dealers out here, there are no deals to be had, and we really don't have a problem making a trip out of the event, you can PM me if you don't want to past it, thanks, Ron

We have dealt with Couch's Campers in Hamilton, Ohio. There are others here who will tell you they are not easy to work with, but we bought a great camper at a decent price and have gone back to them for a few little details to correct and they have come through for us every time. In fact, I just called them this morning to order a couple new kitchen cabinet doors (we want to do a bit of rearranging of a couple cabinets). They even offered to bring them back with them on their next trip to pick up campers so we could forego the shipping costs.

Contact info for them would be
Couch's Campers
2122 Hamilton-Eaton Rd
(St Rt 127 North)
Hamilton, Oh 45011
1-866-539-4678

Best of luck to you!

Town and Country Rv in Clyde, Ohio...family owned. Very fair and good pricing. Let me know if you want more information.. You can deal with them via the internet.

A&S RV Center, (248) 373-5811, in Auburn Hills, MI is where we bought our first Montana in 2002. We liked it so much and the sales and service from A&S that we bought our second, also a 2980RL, in 2006. Our salesman was Ken. We also really like our 2980RL.

I believe there are many places where you can "get a good deal" but I always caution others to make sure they are going to be able to get good service from the dealer. By good service, I mean service when you need it, not when they feel like giving it. We have dealt with the same dealer for over 32 years, having purchased six RVs from them. I would recommend Ketelsen RV in Hiawatha, IA (a suburb of Cedar Rapids, IA). You can call Gary Ketelsen (owner) at 319-377-8244 or e-mail Gary at sales@ketelsenrv.com.

He will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. If you tell him Orv told you to contact them, that may or may not help you!

I bought my new 3000RK from Jamatt rv sales in Poteau OK. I dealt directly with the owner (Sandy). Got a great price and felt like they really wanted my business. If you are comming from California they may be a little closer for you.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but I think I read where the 2980 floorplan has been dropped. Not sure if you can order that plan anymore. Again not sure but might want to check.

We purchased from Tiara Rv sales in Elkhart Indiana. They had the best price for the unit we wanted and no local dealers carried the Big Sky. Only drawback was our local Keystone dealer wouldn`t do warranty work for us. If we had complained to Keystone they may have done the work (only a small item), but I wouldn`t have wanted a disgruntled dealer doing the work.

The 2980 no longer shows up on the Montana floor plan web site.

Yes, the 2980 isn't being built any longer, I think we will go with a 3075RL if that one is still in production.

Welcome to the Forum!

If you don't mind the drive, I would try to stay close to Elkhart to avoid transportation costs. (not sure if they build in Oregon anymore).

I would recommend Thompson's Family RV in Davenport Iowa. There, are three other large RV places in the area within 15 miles so they are very competitive with prices. Thompson's will give you bottom line no haggle price over the Internet. First they gave me a price that they had in stock. It was so good I thought they would never match it when I ordered one. But the ordered unit was priced right too. They are family owned and operated for many, many years. They did a complete pre inspection when I bought my unit and I only found a couple of minor things which they immediately took care of. It was four months before I had it back. I also had repairs on a previous unit from them. Great work every time the first time. Give them a try I think you would like dealing with them. Don't go by the prices on their web site email them for a real quote they may surprise you

We ordered ours from Blaine Jensen RV north of SLC, Utah in 07 and traded in our 32TT and did a 10K better deal than anywhere else in US we tried to deal with. Never had any warranty work done there so don`t know about that end of it. Stayed on their lot for 3 days livin in the new one and found ZERO problems after they released it too us.

We have been extremely pleased with our dealer on both sales and service. We have purchased (ordered) two new Montanas from them. The dealer is Lifestyle RVs, 1100 NW Pamela Blvd, Grain Valley, MO. They are just east of Kansas City. www.lifestylervs.com

If you call them, tell Barry, the owner, we said to take good care of you. Pete was our salesman.

We purchased ours at Capital RV in Bismarck, ND. They are the big boys for the Dakotas. Talk to Bob Bachmeier.
