Hi Sailer...is the the door latch on the sewer tube? If yes, you can buy a metal one and replace the broken plastic one...been there done that.

John,
Go to Office Depot, or any other office supply store and pick up a 751 lock. If they don't have a 751, then you willjust need to carry two keys. Measure the depth of the bolt, as they come in different sizes.
Edited: You are so right - they are cheap on the sewer door. Also, most camping supply places carry the Ch-751 lock.

Right...so sewer latch is one I don't think needs to be key entry...just use the LP type latch.

John, you could have said something before you left, I have 8 of the hatch latches in the tool box. Although I think you will need a much shorter shaft latch than on the basement hatches. Those are all 1 1/4 inch long... Dave

I replaced mine after it came open on the road for about the third time. I used a non-locking metal latch from Camping World. Much better than the original plastic one.

It is frustrating to pay this much money for a new rig and always have this latch problem. I like the cubby for the hose but a nice latch would also be appreciated.

I think the previous owner of our Monty must have had that problem and added another latch to it and then cut off the latching bar (almost to much since it keeps coming open if you don't position it just right)!! Nothing like going down the highway with your hose hanging out!

Oh my God, going down the road with your hose hanging out. :-) That's worse than missing hubcaps. On our last trip I noticed that our plastic latch on the sewer hose compartment getting really flaky and marginally effective. Appreciate the suggestions here on how to fix. Thanks.
