Waynem, To answer some of your questions, one advantage of the SS is that it will (based upon the water pressure) move the waste from each tank up hill where the 3" will not. Now it will not move it up to a second story, but it will usually move it up and over a standard bathroom fixture. Or if you have a 30 foot distance and your RV is 3 foot below a the sewer connection at home, it will move the waste that far.

A second advantage might be that with the 3" hose it does not always lock into the sewer opening, and could pop out creating a mess on the ground around the sewer. The SS using a smaller hose can be inserted deeper into the sewer and/or held in place more easily.

These are my perceptions of some advantages. I do not have the SS, but an considering the possible use because I have the 30' distance and 3' hight problem at the stick house.
